Dr. Scott Rocklage, PhD: The Genious Savant of Our Day

The accomplishments of the brilliant Scott M. Rocklage, PhD are astonishing, and leave the reader breathless trying to keep up with the list! The best place to start is the beginning; in the beginning, Rocklage earned his PhD of Chemistry at U.C. Berkley in 1982 after studying under Nobel Prize in Chemistry winner, Professor Richard R. Schrock. It appears Scott Rocklage was an extraordinary man right out of the gate!

The following is merely a tidbit of all Dr. Rocklage has accomplished! From 1990 to 1994, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Nyocomed Salutar. From July 1994 to March of 2001, Rocklage served as President of Cubist Pharmaceuticals, then became its Founding Chief Executive Officer from 1994 to 2003. He became Director of Pulmatrix, Inc. in 2006 until 2017, and was Director of Relypsa, Inc., from 2007 until 2014. He was Director at VBI Vaccines Inc. from 1994 to 2004 and served as Director of Achaogen, Inc. from 2004-2015, as well as serving as Executive Chairman of Ilypsa, Inc. during that same time. He became a Venture Partner for 5AM Ventures in 2003, and became its Managing Partner in 2004.

Dr. Rocklage, PhD certainly is no ordinary man. Verging on super-human, his genius and enthusiasm for science knows no bounds. He has over 30 years of remarkable experience in healthcare management, science, and leadership and is an inventor down to his very DNA. He has over 30 U.S patents, and more than 100 peer-reviewed publications. Puerto Rico Residents Benefit From InnovaCare’s Numerous Medicare Advantage Plans

New HDIT/HCT Treatment Offers Relief to MS Patients

A new experimental medical treatment is providing relief for relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis patients. The treatment is accomplishing by giving patients a high dose of immunosuppressive therapy followed by transplantation of one’s stem cells. The treatment has induced sustained remission for MS patients. MS is a devastating disease where the immune system assaults the central nervous system. The treatment works by removing malfunctioning cells and using stem cells to reset the immune system.

Five years after getting HDIT/HCT 69 percent of patients who participated in the trial have lived without new MS symptoms. MS drugs that are currently available had lower success rates. The trial was funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID). NIAID is part of the National Institutes of Health network. Researchers from the Immune Tolerance Network, which is under NIAID, conducted the medical trial. Both the three year and five year results were posted online on the journal of the American Academy of Neurology.

Various neurologists such as Dr. Shiva Gopal Vasishta welcomed these results as the treatment seems to be more effective than existing treatments. Additionally, some participants in the trail improved showing recovery in physical abilities and mobility. Dr. Anthony S. Fauci the director of NIAID stated that this one time treatment could be better that the available options.

The trial used 24 volunteer patients who were aged between 26 and 52 years. The patients had already taken clinically available treatments but had relapsed. There were some expected side effects such as infections but overall a majority of patients were better off. Only three participants died and their deaths were not related to the HDIT/HCT treatment.

Dr. Vasishta is a practicing Neurologist at the Eastern Neurodiagnostic Associates. He works primarily in the Voorhees area in New Jersey. He got his medical degree in 1979 and has 38 years’ experience in Neurology. He also has a specialty in psychiatry treatment.
